It’s crazy to think, but an embryo is extremely small. At the blastocyst stage (about 5 days after fertilization), it measures around 0.1 to 0.2 millimeters in diameter, roughly the size of a poppy seed!!!
By the end of the first trimester (around 10 weeks), the embryo grows to about 3-4 centimeters long, similar to the size of a kumquat.
Despite how teeny it is, there is so much going on inside!
